| My gran used to tell me about the Great Depression. Living in the valleys above Swansea with her railway signalman husband (an economic migrant from depressed Devon) she'd sometimes see drowned babies floating down the river. Now times are hard in a less drastic way but there really is a fundamental problem of the 1% trousering a huge portion of what's available - and thinking that somehow they've earned it. |
