| What would be he point of writing to Guy Lambert - it is clear there is an agenda here that won't be influenced by the people they are supposed to represent. I live on Whitestile Road - soon to be blocked off with no prior consultation and minimal notice - the stated reason being that this road is a rat-run. This is clearly not the case - you can wait ten minutes between cars on this road. The obvious result of this change is an increase in journey times and increased congestion and pollution. But this clearly isn't the end - expect to see even more restrictions on other roads as more cars are pushed onto fewer roads. This council will happily lie to get the outcome they want - I was assured residents parking charges wouldn't rise significantly if we signed up to the scheme - the following year charges rose by 20% - they will happily lie to your face. When these temporary road closures become permanent, as we all know they will, will there be independent statistics to justify the closures - of course not! |
