| The claim seems to be that the proposed LTN is based on the results of the Streetspace Consultation. As I've said, I knew nothing about such a consultation and it seems that others didn't either. I've just Googled this alleged consultation and found reference to it on Hounslow's website. It seems that there were 866 respondents - a tiny proportion of the borough's population. It rather suggests that most people didn't know about it. I would like to know how this consultation was publicised. Leaflets through people's doors? Or just some obscure part of the internet? What about people who don't have internet access? Or did the Council just consult those who were likely to be in favour of what it wanted to do - for example, local cycling groups, the green lobby etc. I think we should be told. |
