I walked up Boston Manor Road earlier this afternoon to visit friends up by BM station. I had intended to walk through the little bit of park that I thought the public still had access to - ie past the Spartans hut up to the pond. No, I was physically barred from entering the gate just past GSK, being advised that there was a 'private party' taking place. Best I do not repeat what I said to the steward who blocked me. I have re-read the flyer that I received through my door some days ago. It clearly states 'Some of the park will still be accessible to residents for their usual activities.' '.... and hope that members of the public are not deterred from using the park.' No mention that the park would be completely blocked off today and tomorrow. Last year at least we could still walk through that part of the park. On a positive note, I spoke to a lot of the stewards/security team and they were all very friendly. All the alleyways in between the houses on BM Road are being 'guarded' - I believe until 2.00am tomorrow morning. There are lots of toilets and litter bins available en route. |
