James She may need their votes in the selection process, which determines whether or not Sue and/or her colleagues will be Labour candidates at the next local elections in the first place. You will obviously be aware of what is happening in the Labour Party right now, and selection is an issue. The Isleworth candidates are firmly in the camp of Steve Curran, who is very much on the right of the party. If there is a challenge to the incumbents the votes of the ten Church Street members could easily be decisive. If those members have a financial interest in maintaining the current crop of councillors then that is where it potentially gets messy. |
