Pretty technically accurate Guy ;-) - a temporary stop notice (TSN) was served, which remains in force for 28 days. Maximum fine of £20,000 upon summary conviction, unlimited fine upon indictment. TSN usually served in order to give the LPA some time to ascertain precisely what has been done etc., but does mean that after 28 days the LPA really need to follow up with an enforcement notice if significant breaches are established (and potentially a stop notice (i.e. a non-temporary one)). |
