Of course it was!! Thanks Jim, although I should know its Windmill Road, as I was raised at 96 Windmill Road, opposite what was then Performance Cars, and Mr Goldsmith was our neighbour!! I also remember the Post Office/knitting wool shop on corner of Hamilton Road. The shopkeepers very kindly let me buy my knitting wool 1 ball at a time out of my weekly pocket money and hold the rest until I finished my knitting. Also Terry's greengrocer, was along Windmill Road, opposite Garretts,(my Gran worked for Mr Garrett until she was 79), with a Londis and a shoe shop, who I dont have fond memories of as they sold 'sensible' shoes, and my sister and I were forced to have our school shoes from there!! There were so many shops along that stretch of road, you didn't need to go into 'town' really, although I did enjoy going to Woolworths in Brentford High Street and bumping into my great grandad and being treated to a few sweeties!!
