Prior to the 2010 council elections Labour were putting out leaflets with 5 pledges to the community which they promisssed to honour should they regain control of the council. Under the hearding of Crime the pledge was to "put 100 extra uniformed officers on the borough's streets", or words to that effect. It would be reasonable for the electorate to have assumed that this meant 100 police officers, wouldn't it? How wrong they were though as we all found out to our dismay last year. Instead of 100 extra police officers we were told that what they actually meant was that 100 existing members of the Hounslow Homes staff would be provided with a wardens uniform to patrol the streets in. Perhaps Cllr. Cadbury could comment on that? In the meantime my thoughts are with the family who have suffered this trrible tragedy. |
