With all due respect Cllr Cadbury, try calling the community police. It's either on answerphone or no answer at all. The first question asked is have these people done anything? The answer is No or, in reality, Not yet. But who< me included, is going to ring the police to report people skulking around in the knowledge that after a few calls they will not take any calls seriously. And in a way, I cannot blame them. The fact is there need to be patrols, on foot or bikes where the element of surprise that a law enforcer could come around the corner at any time, anywhere. There needs to be a much stronger effort to revive neighbourhood watch which seems to have fallen to pieces but, for quite a while, worked very well. It's getting very overcrowded in this area and the cracks are starting to widen. We cannot have all these developments being crammed in without increases in policing and local facilities. For now, Our families prayers and thoughts are with this poor woman, her family and friends. Appalling news. |
