"I, like a great many socialists, feel completely disenfranchised by the uber Tory policies of New Labour." I see, so you're a socialist. And yet you voted for UKIP, a party that has just elected Baron Rannoch of Pearson as its leader. Interesting. Let's take a look at Baron Rannoch of Pearson, shall we? He is the first peer for a century to be elected as leader of a political party. (That tells you something about UKIP). He was made a Conservative Life Peer in 1990 by that well known socialist prime minister Margaret Thatcher. He's an old Etonian. He's Chairman of the Deerstalking Committee of the pro-hunting Countryside Alliance. And he invited Geert Wilders, a fascist Dutch politician, to visit Britain. You claim to be a socialist yet vote for a party that elects someone like that as its leader - and you call me thick? |
