Survive? Survive what? The challenge from Sue and her gang in a campaign masterminded by Robin Taylor? Are you really serious? Vanessa, even you had more idea than that bunch. And anyway, as I explained to Sue earlier any "difference" was clearly not of our choosing. I don't know how you imagine the ICG could have persuaded officers to announce a 0% policy on the council's website, in a report to Borough Council in the Leader's name, in a press release to the Chronicle and twice in a speech by the Lead Member. Did you actually listen to the debate on the webcast? If the seats we hold are so "in the bag" for this vibrant and resurgent Labour Party I keep reading about, why has Corinna legged it to Hounslow Heath? And why doesn't somebody of the stature (chuckle) of Colin Ellar have the courage to come and lead his eager but inexperienced team in Isleworth? I seem to recall another former leader, Dave Wetzel, voluntarily switching to a risky seat some years back to try to maximise the party's chances of winning it back. You wouldn't see old "extra bedroom" Colin in Isleworth with a fighter escort. |
