| I wouldn't call re-roofing exciting exactly, what is it about tar and chippings, welsh slate or lead strips that turns you on particularly? Syon House had a long period as being a bit of a disappointment as a tourist venue, unless you are into garden centres, good for a picnic perhaps and redeemed by a quite pleasant but not outstanding wild-ish little park area on the north side. Hopefully the current Duke can perk it up a bit, if death duties and the demands of Alnwick permit. I haven'r been recently to see how the archaelogical dig on the river-facing lawn was proceeding and whether anything of note had been found. |
