| Because if you knew anyone who’s been an addict you will know that the hard stuff destroys lives. It can’t be controlled despite what some think. Considering that we are told that tobacco should be outlawed, and will be ultimately, it’s strange position to take to advocate legalising substances that are far more damaging. There are legalised versions of opiates prescribed but that’s been open to abuse for years. Notable examples of people who died after developing addictions to legalised opioids include Heath Ledger and Prince. Even the relatively harmless mariajuana has terrible effects on some people, particularly as modern strains are far stronger than in the old days. If you’ve ever known anyone who’s has had a drug problem you would understand that it’s not something the state should be relaxed about. |
