| The Greens are absolute nut jobs, as much swivel-eyed loons as Reform just the opposite end of the political spectrum. Their stated policies include a carbon tax, taking energy and water companies into public ownership (plus the railways) and legalisation of all drugs including heroin and crack cocaine. Most of that would be unaffordable and would almost certainly see investment disappear across the UK. If you think Labour tax hikes are bad….. Their latest wheeze is to abolish private landlords from the housing system. Considering private rentals comprise 19 percent of the housing provision - the second largest housing type - it would make it even harder for those looking to rent in London to find somewhere to live. Unfunded promises to ‘build more council homes won’t really come to anything. Cllr Lambert is no doubt enjoying his role as party leader on the council but I suspect he hasn’t really thought through what he’s signed up for. The Greens might claim to be democratic and the structure allows any activist to put forward an idea which if voted through becomes policy, as with the landlord one. Lunacy. |
