If being critical or disagree is being rude or personal then there's no point to have a debate. I don't think I have been rude. Considering what political colleagues say to others and often to their comrades or opposition often directly or behind their backs has been disgraceful for far, far too long. But if a citizen dares to criticise or disagree, it is either considered an insult or must be of another political persuasion. Little wonder, so few of ability would ever go near politics. As it is there is a wholly unnecessary Bus Lane in the High St. With routes turning left and ahead. The Stop and Shop Spaces albeit a few were invaluable and did not cause ay congestion. The same opposite and that was at least enough to facilitate a free flow of passing trade. The Loading areas are too small for more than one van but designed for 2-3 vehicle's - clearly by an office junior on a ZX Spectum version. No turning lock space. Plus if a car -and yes many small business use a car for all purposes gets ticketed even if full of what may be stock or work equipment. The days of a Van and Boy to do the deliveries is long past. It's just common sense being road roller by policies and dogma, again and again. I love my home town and I don't doubt Cllr Lambert does too and some of his predecessors. But I cannot understand why 'Can Do' pragmatism is so averse when it's there for all to see. |
