I have been away from this forum and don't know the details of Guy Lambert's suspension. But the outflowing of goodwill appears to completely ignore his record. When he was first elected, Brentford had an arts centre and a police station - it had free collections of green waste, school crossing patrols to keep our children safe on the way to school and nursery - we were able to park our cars in our streets without paying for the privilege, and able to drive along our roads without taking massive detours due to unnecessary street closures. We've just lost a major DIY store and are about to lose another major supermarket. And our older generation can no longer enjoy a game of bowls in the park. Councillor Lambert has has enthusiastically supported all these changes knowing, and seemingly not caring, the opposition of most of us. Does anyone support the taking over of our parks to hold raves, or the massive building program bringing thousands of additional residents into the borough without any increase in the capacity of primary schools, doctors and dentists? If you really think Guy has been a positive force for Brentford, please let me know how. I have only one wish this Christmas - for a representative who really supports our needs, and not someone who treats them with such contempt. |
