To be fair, most councils have a tin ear when it comes to listening to residents, unless of course what they are being told tallies with their world view. Your point about being equal partners is a very good one. Having the day to day responsibility of running a facility is stressful enough for a paid and trained employee. The new building in Boston Manor is certainly swanky but without people to run it, it will simply be a white elephant. And buildings that aren’t used tend to fall into disrepair quite rapidly. Is there a timescale for having it open? |
