| The Friends thought they had someone to do it, but there is always risk with volunteers. In this case I understand the individual pencilled in had a change in circumstances and it became impracticable. The Friends decided they did not have the capacity to recruit and 'manage' the cafe. We were disappointed because we are very aware of the benefit the Friends have brought to the park but my understanding is they will now restrict their engagement with the tennis facility. Colleagues in the parks team have spoken to a number of other potential partners, but it will need to go through a selection process which I believe willbegin very soon. |
