| The irony is that TfL is desperate for money, yet seems keen to discourage bus usage, a source of revenue for it. Then it finds the cash to throw at I’ll-conceived cycle schemes that are chronically underused. Given the choice most sane people would use a bus ahead of a bike. And the health argument is spurious. Calorie burning is very low when cycling short distances. You won’t improve your health with local cycling, particularly if you then load up on carbs when you get home. A better move by LBH would be to close KFC and other fast food outlets. |
