Some Councils are replacing larger wheelies with smaller ones. There is quite a bit of discussion here. http://www.letsrecycle.com/news/latest-news/wrap-defends-refuse-bin-capacity-study/ http://www.letsrecycle.com/news/latest-news/isle-of-wight-residents-to-get-residual-waste-bins/ The Isle of Wight will get residual wheelies or seagull-proof sacks if wheelies can't be accommodated. Why not see-through plastic sacks for recyclables and seagull-proof sacks for residual waste if it has to be changed. It is better to be able to see what is in the recycling container. It is a shame that the problem with the estate bins was not reported on www.fixmystreeet.com anonymously. Then everyone could have seen what was going on. Sarah Keep hold of your photos. I'd have liked to have presented a picture of the mattress one in particular to Eric Pickles when he visited. It is still an area that isn't right but he is no longer in that job. |
