I don't know anyone who is opposed to the site at Lionel Road being used for a stadium. Equally I don't know anyone who is for the development that will encapsulate it. I thought the whole idea initially was to have a versatile stadium that could have a diversity of usage. What has been approved is simply a 21st century version of the 19th century Griffin Park with the same inherent problems. No adequate parking and surrounded by residences. What's to stop the future residents of the new high density developments putting the block on any of the proposed activities? As for Griffin Park, the town houses is already the preferred option locally. What astonished me was hearing that 3 of the voting councillors were so well read on the issue that they thought the site was where Carville Hall Park is currently situated. So Councillors Curran Cadbury and Co. You should hang your heads in shame for removing yourselves so late in the day. Thoroughly incompetent and you should all resign. |
