| Did you notice Tony's newspaper shop? Looks like Enfield Road was rationed to one lamp-post! The metal railings on those houses on the left look elegant..but I presume they would have been removed and melted down ...for the War effort. Interesting there are still such railings in South Ealing Road at those little Victorian houses near the Ladies hairdressers. I spoke to an occupier one day..he reads this Forum..and he pointed at the drop to the basement windows..close to the pavement..and that's why the very old railings are still there |
