| Yes great research Jim! I used to go into Lockyers as a kid with Mum(always on a wednesday as it was early closing in Ealing).I remember the lady in the booth very clearly. I think my elder brother went to Little Ealing Juniors and was friends with their son (Malcom?). Fran...Wasn't the greengrocer called George Wheeler? If so I was in his daughters (Georgina) class at L.E.J.school in the late 50s. I seem to remember that George kept his horse in the garden. I used to be a paperboy at the newsagents and my round covered the Tree estate near Gillettes,I always wondered and still do,why so many people got their papers from a tiny shop in Enfield Road. |
