| One only has to look at what's going on in central London this afternoon/tonight to realise why the police can't deal with every 'minor' issue. Makes me sick - the police can't win, because of regrettable incidents like Ian Tomlinson/de Menezes the police are now too reluctant to ever use appropriate force. And no doubt us taxpayers will be paying for the cost of repairing all the damage caused tonight...rant over ! (typically Cameron seems more worried about Charles and Camilla than the rest of the country). Kevin's point about developments is one I often hear - as I always tell people the 'problem' is that national planning policy/guidance isn't supportive of high parking ratios in development, instead it's all about promoting alternative forms of transport, minimum cycle parking standards etc. I don't 'buy' the government's approach, but that's the policy position I'm afraid. |
