Only abuse for abolishing it" Bringing back the 10p tax band did not deserve plaudits - it is what we (longterm Labour supporters) rightly expect a Labour government to do. They do however deserve all the abuse they have received (and more) for abolishing it. This government has often been described as Toryism-Lite. This I feel is unfair - they are Toryism-in-totality. Cameron's party has more claim to the term Toryism-Lite. Blair and Brown have led their spineless, philosophy-lite party to the brink of well-deserved electoral destruction. Who will suffer most as a result, the very core working class support they have ignored in favour of their craven wooing of the rich. Also - any government which would consider offering a job to a despicable slime ball like Mandelson is beneath contempt and impossible to take seriously. |
