"Matt - that is a great idea - maybe if it shows that the parking charges are going, at least in part, towards the overall costs of the hospital, then people would not mind paying, as they would be directly benefiting. Obviously some of the charges must go towards staffing and maintaining the car parking facility." Dear Jessamy, you still haven't got it! There are at least two different aspects to the thread. As a budding Supermodel, the actual cost of the car park does not affect you as it does some of the other people who have posted comments. You, Sarah, Lynn, me – you want £x to park, no problem, here’s your £x. Some people can’t just hand over the stealth tax that easily. But, consider; you, Sarah, Lynn, me etc. have (you pick – heart attack, labour, kitchen accident, stroke, COPD – whatever) we and are relatives don’t feel that looking in our pockets for £x is important at that time. There are lots of factor to consider in this thread; please think “outside the box” – we all know that there is no such thing as a free lunch and that someone pays somewhere at some time. We’ve been there, bought the T-shirt etc. Here an idea that the gov. could try. As Supermodels have said that they won’t get out of bed for less than £10k, let’s charge all photographic models an extra £1,000 per year “compassion tax” and in return make all car hospital parks free. |
