Noticeable how there has been a massive drop in cycling in the last week since the weather changed and the nights are drawing in. And of course how much harder it is to ride the bike to work when you need to have additional water protective clothing and how much it makes you perspire. And if you don't have changing and showering facilitates and somewhere to keep for a full change of attire your stuck all day stinking and getting funds infections. This was very common in bygone days when many cycled to work, but provision of bike sheds and different clothing existed, but when the private car became affordable for ordinary working people,it's not difficult to understand why there was a stampede. It's our climate, damp. windy and changeable that makes cycling and walking only for the hardy and outdoor types. So if it's such an important issue, why have there not been moves to suspend the changing of the clocks to allow a lighter going home time and at least a bit of daylight in the evening to get things done before dark? |
