This is absolute lunacy. I find it quite frightening the way our freedom to move around and in and out of our area is being restricted. And yet it seems that despite all the anti-car, pro-active travel rhetoric that is spouted at us to justify all the restrictions, it is proposed that a new road be built across Syon Park to link with London Road. Why? There is excellent pedestrian and cycle access to the park - surely that should be sufficient in the light of current policies. Drove past the West Mid the other day. Nose-to-tail traffic in both directions. Cycle lanes on either side of the road marked out with poles. Ambulance (lights and siren) had difficulty getting through because nobody could pull over to the side of the road because of the poles. And, of course, no cyclists in the cycle lanes. |
