It's starting to look like far more people have had Covid mildly than we ever guessed. And guess is all we can do with such a slow rate of testing in the UK. So it may be that we can safely ease restrictions earlier than many fear. I do sympathise with all your points, Andy. Not just the economic fallout, which is dramatic, but all the harm done to vulnerable people. I do the websites for two mental health charities, Cathja and TAO, and both are closed due to Covid, making life very difficult for the people who usually drop into the Cathja barge or Twickenham Green pavilion. And when you look at who is most vulnerable to this virus and find it seems particularly dangerous for obese, old, male smokers with impaired immunity you think... great it's not youngsters! |
