I'm not in the car much but the other day heading home over Kew Bridge I think there was a sign on the bridge warning of the closure, a small sign outside Costa (which admittedly some numpty had partly moved so wasn't as visible as might have been), the large sign just after Costa, and then the two smaller 'road closed' and 'access only' signs after the bus stops. That's at least 4 signs and possibly 5. I'll agree the closure is better marked (by way of cones and signage) at the Ealing Road junction, but I've still seen plenty of numpty drivers ignore the signs and the cones and reach the Travelodge, as demonstrated by the muppet who damaged the wall. Everyone on here is usually so quick to point out that we're not in Kew, and Kew Bridge Road ends at the petrol station, so the signage is 100% accurate by referring to the High Street, so personally I don't buy into any suggestion that drivers are 'confused'. I just think there's alot of drivers out there who are either (a) chancing their arm in the hope the signage is out of date, or (b) not particularly observant. And I reckon it's a 50/50 split - the latter ones being the ones I worry about as a road user because it brings into question just how much they're concentrating on the road. |
