| The hole and associated trenches has covered over 1/2 the width of the road for at last a couple of days now, so a road closure would have had to have been in force at some point. Makes more sense in my view to close the road completely rather than potentially have a scenario where the road is open one day, closed the next, then open again etc. Especially given the volume of drivers who still completely ignore the very visible signage announcing the road is closed and is access only. And it isn't like it's just boy racers or white van men who are ignoring the signage, on numerous occasions this week I've seen emergency service vehicles having to U-turn, which makes me think "I might be relying on that police car/ambulance to reach me quickly, why is the muppet driver ignoring the signage and losing vital time ?". |
