| were £167,306 which made her the 27th most expensive MP out of 646. That is quite incredible seeing as she represents a London constituency and lives within a few miles or 9 miles of the House of Commons (dependng on where she is actually living). Her Staff Allowance Expenses were £104,306 in 2007/2008 which were the third highest of any MP. She either has a big staff or pays them very well ! In addition, her salary as a Parliamentary Under Secretary is £94,228. The cost to the public of Ann Keen's salary plus expenses is £261,534, exclusive of pension and other benefits. In contrast, her husband Alan earns £63,291 as a backbench MP and his expenses were somewhat less at £147,976, of whuich the Staffing Allowance made up £94,228. Together the Keens' salaries and expenses came to £472,801 in 2007-2008. |
