Dan

In contrast to Gordon Brown, David Cameron has acted decisively and with integrity with regard to the massive scandals regarding MP's expenses. David Cameron has led the Conservative Party extremely well through this crisis.

Regarding Derek Conway, it is not within David Cameron's power to fire any MP as an MP. David Cameron very quickly withdrew the Conservative whip from Derek Conway. This  means that Derek Conway is no longer a  Conservative MP and cannot be a  Conservative  candidate at the next General Election.

It is up to the law, the courts or the electorate to decide who can remain an MP, not any party leader.

In contrast Gordon Brown has merely suspended MP's who were found to have received taxpayers' money for mortgages they no longer had.He has also condoned members of his own Cabinet such as Alistair Darling and Hazel Blears who have been flipping their homes in order to avoid Capital gains Tax and maximise their  Additional Costs Allowance claims.

David Cameron has laid out a clear set of rules for all Conservative MP's to follow and he has done so well before Gordon Brown stirred himself into action.
