Just one example of western excess!  Apparently the amount of clothing made is enough to clothe the next six generations - and as for the thousands of litres of water it takes to make a pair of jeans... https://www.theguardian.com/global-development/2025/mar/28/atacama-chilean-desert-clothes-dumping-western-fast-fashion-industry I still can't understand how anybody could spend money at a shop on  high street buying new jeans with identical ready-made holes in them and most of the wear worn out of them off a rack in a shop.  There is something much more precious about the long-serving jeans that you have actually worn into that state yourself or have inherited from someone else!
