Most people (or a large proportion) order from Amazon or eBay  who don’t take away your old appliance so it’s just flytipped. It’s up to the Council to then recycle the appliances appropriately. The companies who offer to take the old appliance now charge ridiculously high fees so it ends up flytipped anyway.
From the look of Hounslow it seems that people flytip with impunity.
