Chance would be a fine thing! From the state of the street recycling bins many people do spend some of the holidays sorting out their cupboards. A big problem can be students who are leaving their accommodation and suddenly finding that they have too much stuff, there aren't as many charity shops as there used to be, they can't fit all their belongings on the train or in the car and - how can they now deal with all this stuff when they just want to spend their last days partying with their friends before they go their different ways? I wish we could see that there was more input and help from colleges.  With some volunteers' help this would be a good way to support some of those who can't afford all the useful stuff that just gets dumped - which is sometimes in such haste that it is illegally flytipped.
