| Much of this is Cow towing to the Mayor of London and GLA and much of it is down to this Borough and Ealing prostituting parts of both Boroughs to potential developers and in closed events like Cannes. It's already too late with unsuitable buildings and no clear benefit. Transport remains below average, open spaces are now increasingly under pressure , Health from over densification is replicating Dickensian problems and thus overloading demand and delivery means. Schools are at the point where even local residents are house swapping addresses to get kids into better schools. Infrastructure has taken a hammering and proper job creation and small industry decimated or pushed into unviability. Just crumbs from the plate of money from Section 106 and its successor levy, CIL, gleaned from Brentford has been spent on Brentford. The town has been milked. The social divisions widened. Some of this is worse in rural areas but is part of being rural. But this is all being inflicted and stoked by policies and fiscal gain. The price paid will be far worse than any fiscal gain. |
