Subbaiah Kuttanda explained quote : What we are seeing is a knee-jerk reaction to everything the council does. The proposals can be downloaded from the link below... :unquote On page 4 of those proposals is the following - " Community orchard * and garden redesigned and delivered with the help of volunteers and project partners;" As you appear to to know more about this than most people, could you please explain exactly where this "community orchard" was located ? And what this "redesign" will consist of ? I only ask because as far as most users of the park were concerned the "community orchard" consisted of the well established blackberry bushes at the bottom of the meadow, through which boarded pathways were laid down only last year, presumably at some expense. While the only "redesign" which has taken place has been the entire destruction of the blackberry bushes rendering the whole "community orchard" barren for years to come. Or perhaps you know different ? And doubtless you're already delighted that in "tidying up" the undergrowth bordering on the north side of the lake all the cover was removed where the mandarin ducks used to roost. With the result that on the last ocassion I visited at least, all the mandarin ducks were conspicuous by their absence. *On the actual plans on page 2 the only change for this area is from "woodland" to "coppice/management" michael adams |
