Has anyone been down to the meadow in Boston Manor park in the last two days and seen the devastation carried out yesterday to the 'wild' area by the canal? The area adjacent to the trees which were planted in memory of Alice Gross a few years ago has been razed to the ground. The shrubs and plants were brutally destroyed yesterday. This was a beautiful area of the meadow - wild and home to rabbits and other wildlife. Three trucks belonging to the park's current maintenance company were on-site yesterday, together with the 'digger' which destroyed all the plant life. I have some photos but do not know how to attach them. This gives me great cause for concern what other destructive changes are planned for the park following the award of the lottery grant. So much for protecting nature. Whoever instigated this should be ashamed of themselves. |
