"It is not known when the banner was put up in South Street Isleworth or if this was funded by Hounslow Council" So in response to a Freedom of Information request, to which there is a statutory requirement to provide all the information asked for unless it is specifically exempt under the terms of the legislation, Hounslow Council has told you that it doesn't know whether or not it provided the funding for a named project? It occurs to me that either the London Borough of Hounslow has knowingly, and unlawfully, withheld information from you or it is criminally incompetent bearing in mind that these are public funds we are discussing here. Either way, this is extremely serious. Would it really be too much therefore to expect the "opposition" to look further into this, from within, as a matter of some urgency and to report back to the public on its findings? |
