The people behind the Church St. markets operate under the name of 'Inspiring Isleworth', and claim to be a 'community association' however trying to find out just who they are is quite another matter. A Freedom of Information request has not really shed much light on this either. Apparently according to FOI "The group was established by residents to deliver projects and activities to bring local residents together and raise the profile of Isleworth". They are I am told - "An unincorporated voluntary organisation with a constitution". My request to find out who these people are elicits only that this is covered by the D.P. Act and that I should contact them directly. Their constitution provides for annual elections to the board and most interestingly "The organisation has not applied for any grant funding for the Riverside Markets". Hounslow Council has provided grant funding through the Community Grant Programme as follows: 2015 - 2016 £5000 to run a community event. 2016 - 2017 £5000 to run a community event. I did mange finally to get a contact e-mail - but answer came there none. Does anyone know who these people are, when they have these election to their board and just what these two 'community events' actually were? Their contact on Facebook always come up with Riverside Markets. Strange eh? |
