I think it's what's called 'civic pride' and we don't seem to be very big on that in this country do we? There are parts of this borough that would put slums to shame when you go around, not helped by the fact that litter bins seem to be left to overflow over weekends, which doesn't help. Many countries hose down their streets frequently and put us to shame, but if we wanted these things we'd need to pay, how do you think that'd go down? |
