No gates are not being installed. It's to allow cyclists a non stop route from Half acre to Ealing road. All reasonable except for the blind crossing at Grosvenor road where 2 footpaths, the park entrance and an alleyway footpath meet. If you are old or not to agile, be very careful here as already the uber-cyclists are racing down Grosvenor Road and the park in both directions and why is it these highly equipped cyclists do not have a bell? It was the gateposts that were the items of historical interest. The gate itself was not the original but all the same ornate cast iron. The hinges had dropped so it has not been in use for a long time. The posts though were 100% and could have remained in situ with simply the gate removed. There is less than 6inches difference in the width of the new cheap and nasty scaffold poles that mark the entrance. |
