It really is almost criminal that these officials, developers or politicians can simply allow decisions based on whimsy. Whatever ones views on cars and transport, it is as obvious as clear skies are blue that anyone moving into an urban district as vast as London will need a car at some point to make a living. Having stood and listened to a late councillor who stood in front of a public meeting and pontificated about how poor people do not need cars and nor should anyone else in a city only to leave the meeting to go to another....wait for it....by car. When fronted up she defended her use as of utmost importance and the only way to get about to meetings on time....As if anyone else's business is not of any significance or heaven help us to make a living. Lovely ideals but not practicable in so many instances. |
