We saw a Ballymore architect's presentation recently and by 2023 there should be a lot more activity. But that's a long way away. The Market Square in front of Verdict should be a focal point, and does often have people stopping for a chat and children playing. But that is made extremely hazardous by some people parking their cars there. That is forbidden (including on the patch of privately owned land) by two LBH planning decisions in 2013 which changed the use to 'Public realm (town square)' and decreed 'Change of use from car park to public realm open space'. That needs enforcing before a child is injured or worse. With the new planters and plenty of seating the square could be such an asset to Brentford - if only we can stop the cars squatting there. |
