Do you think that I am lying??? In 2017, 675 cyclists were seriously injured on Greater London roads. That is according to TfL. A further 3,836 suffered slight injuries. The figures are even worse for pedestrians and motorcyclists. These stats are easily available online. You can talk and talk about people driving more considerately and cyclists being more patient and obeying road rules. But at the end of the day there are far too many people out there who will not listen, that are ignorant, that are in too much of a hurry and who simply do not care. A much more effective way to prevent road deaths is through changing the system and introducing physical barriers or technological advancements that stop vehicles coming in to contact with the more vulnerable road users. This is happening but just not quick enough.
