Philippa - you keep banging on about no cars but I would not be as independent as I am without my car and Blue Badge.  I try to get bulky things delivered but fresh food I want to choose for myself.  Then I need my car to get it home, even if it's just a couple of boxes of soft fruit and green veg. I don't have a mobility scooter and if I did, would not be able to charge it up.  I do not want to seal myself in my home I want to get out and about for as long as I can and as far as I can.  Don't fancy my chances in a mobility scooter driving with both oxygen converters plus luggage to beyond Ashford in Kent or down to Petworth!   A train is out too - no way I could lug all that stuff with me!  So a CAR it is for me.
