It's a very valid point made a few comments up, that people lose track of what's planned, what's approved and what's in store due to the steamroller of development after development that has been foisted on us. Certainly didn't help that LBH wrapped Development and the Environment into a single role for a certain ex-LBH director to run, who apparently did the damage and then walked away with a £300k pay off and straight into a consultancy with the company that's building that monstrosity of an oversized and overdense development (with zero affordable housing) known as the new football stadium enabling development. The only thing it's enabling is a ridiculous level of profits with absolutely no consideration to anyone who might live near it. Same with the Morisons development of an utterly bland box that simply maximises the number of rental flats it can fit into the space. The certain ex LBH director, I believe, lives in a very pleasant little village way out in the countryside, as you would if you were paid more than the PM and then got the fattest of fat-cat pay-offs. I rather hope that my submitting a charge of maladministration helped in his departure. Tell me, how many times has LBH featured in the Private Eye rotten boroughs list recently? I guess there's no point mentioning that the Local Plan says nothing above 20m, because every time I do there's an excuse that LBH can approve whatever it damn well wants to. |
