The rats outside the court are not a new thing - I saw a gathering of them there at least 2 years ago whilst I was waiting for a bus.  They were happily running about in broad daylight.  This was when Morrisons had their recycling bins right along the court and I assumed they were well fed because of the amount of rubbish.

Around the same time I saw exactly the same thing, several rats running about, outside the Health centre in Boston Road.  There was no rice of any description at that site and no visible signs of any other food.  It seems just to be a fact of life that Brentford like everywhere else is full of rats.  Probably not helped by people slinging half eaten takeaways all over the streets.  What can you do?  Rats can breed faster than you can kill them and they will eat just about anything including wood, paper, etc., really anything at all.  Therefore all litter is lunch as far as rats are concerned.  It's time people got to grips with their rubbish and dealt with it sensibly and responsibly instead of lobbing half eaten kebabs and burgers or whatever (which I have seen many times) onto the streets.  Even then we probably need the Pied Piper to sort the problem out.
