Paul said "Using my old fashioned O Level maths I think it works out to be about a saving of £7 a year for a Band D property so hardly worth making a big song and dance about but of course multiply that £7 by the number of residents in Hounslow who pay the tax and many jobs and services could be saved and even perhaps restored if there was no cut" I recall 95,000 being the number of households in the Borough (and the circulation total for the magazine "Hounslow Matters") so that figure multipled by £7 pa would be £665,000. That wouldn't buy a house in some parts of the Borough and equates to only some 0.0001% of the Borough's spending. Nonetheless it's a useful sum of money to no longer collect .and could have kept the Chiswick Adult Day Centre open. |
